Congratulations to AwesomeAshmore of Livonia, Michigan for earning Top Dawg honors for this past weekend's RD#26 of the Wind Tunnel Super 7 Sweep without picking the F1, IndyCar, Cup or Truck race winners. Wow. 1734 the hard way.

The Nationwide series is on the brink of irrelevancy, i.e. fewer entries, less sponsorship and more start 'n parkers thanks to its complete domination by Cup teams for the past few years. Here's what one fan thinks NASCAR should do about it.

Carl and Brad are on probation, Sebastien and Mark are putting on the good face for Red Bull, Cup returns to the Brickyard for what could be one of the series' final appearances, the ALMS is in action at Lime Rock and the Will Power show is at Edmonton. Which favorite or three will bring heartache with a no points result this weekend?

A month ago NASCAR suspended two-time Nationwide Series champ turned ESPN commentator Randy LaJoie for violating the sanctioning body's substance abuse policy by smoking pot in the infield at Charlotte after the Coca Cola 600. But a ripped, clean cut and healthy-living-always Carl Edwards is in the clear despite driving like someone on drugs with no regard for his fellow racers' safety?

Albert Einstein defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. I'm not calling the ICONIC panel's recommendations completely insane but they've missed another golden opportunity to boost IndyCar back to strong relevancy.

Something tells me this will not be a weekend like last, with the favorites in most of the races scoring nada, so that tiebreaker rule may come into play Sunday night.

Love ya Scott Speed but you belong in IndyCars. Love ya Richard Petty but you belong in church, lighting candles and praying for a miracle. And love ya NHRA drag racing but you need to do something about safety at what's supposed to be the slow end of the race track.

It's not often every No. 1 pick in the NASCAR races comes up empty but that's what happened this weekend. Doh!

Robin Miller says the Delta Wing may still have a heartbeat for 2012, and if the radical new chassis and open source building concept becomes the norm it will be the first significant new race car design in fifty years. Here's my take on the 11 most significant IndyCars from the last great era of change. And yes, it was supposed to be ja top 10 list but I took liberties with how ties are included.
