Batmanrr did pretty good this past weekend to score 1884 points, the second highest weekly total this season, with four win picks and none of the remaining three worse than third. Darned impressive. My score sucked.

The news that GMP has provided three classic quarter-mile collectibles from back in the day (the Tin Indian Knafel Pontiac Judge, Bob Ford 427 Thunderbolt and the Magic Muffler Fiat fuel altered) as September Super 7 Sweep weekly prizes has sparked a thought or three about drag racing, the NHRA and the sport's health (cough) and future. The Nationwide series is on the brink of irrelevancy, i.e. fewer entries, less sponsorship and more start 'n parkers thanks to its complete domination by Cup teams for the past few years. Here's what one fan thinks NASCAR should do about it.

Love ya Scott Speed but you belong in IndyCars. Love ya Richard Petty but you belong in church, lighting candles and praying for a miracle. And love ya NHRA drag racing but you need to do something about safety at what's supposed to be the slow end of the race track.
