Heck of a way to start our fourth season of Wind Tunnel Super 7 Sweep play with most teams scoring a couple of zeroes thanks to the SunTrust and GAINSCO car troubles.

The 50th Anniversary Rolex 24 at Daytona is tomorrow, NASCAR starts in a few weeks and The Commish is moist and ready for another 10 great months of game play.

Congratulations to doubleracer from Chris Economaki's home state on scoring the most points in RD#35 to win the autographed Dave Despain Bobblehead.  There are still eight rounds left and wilbanks racing has the lead but second and third are within 62 pts.  Wish one was me.

Congrats are in order to both the weekly winner and the team that scored the most points in September, but neither has provided any contact info so we can't send them their prizes.   D'oh!

Congratulations to F1Nutz on scoring a big 1865 points to win the autographed Dave Despain Bobblehead for RD#27. Only three more rounds in the regular season ... can twowheeltraveler hang on for the title?

Congrats to tcarrow10 on winning this week's autographed Dave Despain Bobblehead by tiebreaker over labcollie. Both teams picked 6/6 winners plus a third-place Dario. I didn't do nearly as well.

Batmanrr did pretty good this past weekend to score 1884 points, the second highest weekly total this season, with four win picks and none of the remaining three worse than third.  Darned impressive.  My score sucked.

Congratulations to Road America on scoring a whopping 1727 points to win an autographed Dave Despain Bobblehead and here's a nod to a couple of SPEED ringers, Gregg Leary and Tom Sneva, who scored in the top 10 this weekend.

If you're looking for info about our 2011 NHRA or Roush Fenway games we have no information yet.   But we know the Super 7 Sweep game is back, we're still going to run our drag racing game and we might even publish a couple more contests guaranteed to make watching your favorite sport a bit more interesting. 

Kudos and congratulations to three Super 7 Sweep teams this weekend:  Team Skidmarks, who also won the Regular Season Championship scored the most points for RD#36 while Hotlanta clinced the most-points-in-ALMS title and Rockstar Racing won the IndyCar -only championship.  

Kahne, Menard put RPM on Cup front row at Kansas, Franchitti and Dixon do the same for Ganassi at Homestead, Logano and Kyle give Joe Gibbs Racing one-two Nationwide start and Team Peugeot leads field at Petit Le Mans.  Now that's team works.

What a weekend -- and not just for the racers.  Congrats to nascarf1fano1 on winning Top Dawg honors for most points for the round, and kudos to 'hoos' on taking Monthly honors to earn a Mario Andretti Racing School Qualifier package.  But the big applause is reserved for Team Skidmarks, the winner of the Super 7 Sweep regular season contest, who will soon receive a Steve Kinser Outlaw r/c sprint car from CustomWorks autographed by Steve Kinser and Tony Stewart.

By this point in the season there are few surprises in the starter stats; all the usual suspects are at the top of each report and all that's left is for the race results to gauge our respective picking skills.   But oh, those intangibles.  A flat tire here, a spin or crash there, maybe even a takeout by some driver who fully embraces the 'have at it boys' concept.  And yes, I'm talking about Robby Gordon.

Congratulations to FTG_TGS for most points in RD#30 of Wind Tunnel's Super 7 Sweep fantasy game.  The gentleman from Lisle, IL picked all five race winners plus one second and one third -place driver.  Pretty good, Dale!

Word on Pit Road is the curious Chevy decision allowing Kasey Kahne to go to Toyota, the NASCAR 2011 schedule changes and Honda making it official re: an all new HPD turbo V6 for the IndyCar series.  Then there's that Roush Yates Ford ALMS announcement, which brings up one very good suggestion courtesy Miller's Mailbag and Marshall Pruett.

Eight players tied for most points for this weekend's RD#28 of the Wind Tunnel Super 7 Sweep fantasy game and congrats to ZOOMZOOMZOOM on winning a SPEED t-shirt (the Bobbleheads are still on backorder) by tiebreaker from most points from the previous weekend.

Carl and Brad are on probation, Sebastien and Mark are putting on the good face for Red Bull, Cup returns to the Brickyard for what could be one of the series' final appearances, the ALMS is in action at Lime Rock and the Will Power show is at Edmonton. Which favorite or three will bring heartache with a no points result this weekend?

After last weekend, when four players tied for most points, the Super 7 Sweep shows three NASCAR races, F1 at Silverstone and a welcome-back ALMS event in Utah for this round.  Any bets on whether or not a rare, highly-collectible Dave Despain -autographed Bobblehead will come down to who scored more points for the previous round again?
